Cami’s Pretzel Bites
Cami makes these little beauties for us…. of course they have become our FAVORITE quarantine snack. They are easy, tasty and so pretty. I hope you love them as much as we do. In fact, let’s make some again today Cami!!!
Homemade Pretzel Bites
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. yeast
1 tbsp. honey
6 tbsp. butter
2 1/2 salt
4-5 cups all purpose flour
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
In your mixer, add 1 1/2 cup warm water, sugar and yeast. Let stand 10 minutes to proof.
Once the yeast is done proofing, add the honey, butter and salt.
Add the flour mixing in a little at a time. Keep mixing your dough until it comes away from the bowl but is still sticky to touch.
Once the dough is done, place it into a lightly greased bowl to rise. Let the dough rise 45-60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
After the dough is risen, cut it into 8 pieces. Take one of the pieces and roll it into a long rope, about 22″ long. Roughly cut into 1″ pieces.
Bring 4-6 cups of water to a light boil. Add 1/4 cup baking soda. Once the water is boiling, submerge the pieces of dough, until fully covered in the hot water. Remove and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with kosher salt.
Bake the pretzel bites for 15-18 minutes, flipping over half way through. The bites should be golden and beautiful!
Cheese Sauce
In a medium sauce pan, melt 1/2 tbsp. butter, 1/2 tbsp. flour and whisk together over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup milk and whisk together until thickened. Add 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated and stir to combine. Dip the warm pretzels into the sauce to serving.
Happy Baking!!!! XO
