Moroccan Meatballs

What a fun segment!

The Christmas Wheel of Food. What a great idea! My spin? I landed on cinnamon. And in stead of choosing sweet, I opted to share this family favorite recipe, Moroccan Meatballs. This special recipe comes from my cookbook with Core 7 Fitness, Core 7 Fueled. You can grab your copy HERE.

Watch my segment below!!!

Moroccan Meatballs

Core 7 Fueled Cookbook by Wendy Paul

1 lb. ground turkey, beef or chicken or 1 lb. frozen meatballs

1 tsp. cinnamon1 tsp. cardamom1 tsp. coriander1 tsp. basil½ tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. kosher salt

28 oz. crushed tomatoes

1 small onion, diced

1 tbsp. olive oil, or vegetable oil.

In a small bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic, basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Combine gently, not over mixing. Form small meatballs using a cookie scoop or your hand. Place the meatballs in a large skillet, heated on medium, with some oil to brown. Once the meatballs are browned, add the diced onion, and stir until the onions are tender and the meatballs have browned. Then add the tomatoes, remaining seasonings, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Serve over noodles, rice or on skewers for your next party.

TIP: Here’s our favorite frozen meatballs. Which I try to keep stocked in the freezer for fast dinners.

Don’t be afraid to use these great frozen meatballs in place of fresh. Don’t feel the stress of perfection during the holiday season, or another other time for that matter.

Thank you Studio 5, for always, making segments so much fun. Being in studio, even social distanced, was heaps of fun! Missed it so very much. XO
