Fried Angel Food Cake

Fried Angel Food Cake

Here’s some proof that most everything is BETTER with BUTTER.

Fried Angel Food Cake is just that. I used a store bought angel food cake and made it even better by frying it in a little butter, in a non stick pan. Then topping it with fresh whipped cream, strawberries, and caramel sauce because my 16 year old insisted on it.

Angel food cake, fried in some butter, gives this traditional dessert a makeover. Hello beautiful!

Fried Angel Food Cake

1 pint fresh heavy whipping cream plus 1/3 cup powdered sugar

1 cup sliced strawberries

Angel Food Cake (store bought or homemade)

Caramel sauce and fudge sauce

Butter

Non stick skillet

Slice your angel food cake, into 8 portions. Or smaller if desired. Preheat a skillet over medium low heat. Fry each side of angel food cake, until nice and golden in some butter. About 2-3 minutes per side. Watch, checking half way through. Don’t crowd the pan. You want the cake to brown, not steam. Remove the pieces and continue until all pieces are fried.

Whip your cream until stiff peaks form. Sweeten with a little powdered sugar.

Garnish each piece with cream, berries, and sauces.

Get in my belly.
