Monster Italian Meatballs
I was so happy with these meatballs. I am happy to share them with you. They are melt in your mouth, with a delicious flavor, and made with whole wheat bread crumbs. You can make them ahead of time, and even freeze until you are ready to bake. A great meal for the weeknight.
Monster Meatballs
1 1/2 lbs. 80/20 ground beef
2 slices whole wheat bread, cut into tiny cubes
1 egg
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp. basil
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. parsley
Put all ingredients together into a large mixing bowl- and mix by hand until all ingredients are incorporated. Separate out into 8 equal portions, then shape into a large ball and place in a 9×13 baking dish. Then pour over 2 cups crushed tomatoes mixed with 1 tsp. Italian season, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve over cooked pasta. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
