Triple Chocolate Peppermint Trifle on Studio 5

I had so much fun on Studio 5 today…. showing you my new favorite holiday trifle. Here’s the link to watch the segment, and here’s the recipe below. My mom sent me a text after the show and asked me to make it for our Christmas party. I’m so excited to make it again!!!

Triple Chocolate Peppermint Trifle

1 box family size brownie mix (made according to pkg. directions and cooled)
1- 4 oz. box. white chocolate instant pudding mix
1 3/4 cup milk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
Crushed peppermint candies
Candy canes
Whole peppermint candies
Whipped Cream (one pint whipped cream whipped to stiff peaks, plus 1/2 cup powdered sugar)
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract (optional)

Cut brownies into small squares for assembly, set aside.

Mix together instant pudding and 1 3/4 cup milk. Whisk together until blended, set aside.

Heat 1 cup heavy cream for 1-2 minutes in the microwave. Pour over 2 cups chocolate chips and let stand for 2-3 minutes. Stir together to form a thick Ganache, set aside.

Fold in peppermint extract to whipped cream (optional) set aside.

In a trifle bowl, or small jars, layer the ingredients in this order: brownies, ganache, white chocolate pudding, peppermint cream, crushed peppermint candies. Repeat at least 3 times. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. At least 1 hour. It’s even better the next day.
