Chocolate strawberry shortcake

This may be on repeat until my strawberry patch quits producing.

3 cups flour

1/2 cup dark cocoa powder

1 tbsp. Baking powder

Pinch of kosher sakt

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup cold butter

Sweetened heavy whipped cream

Ganache

Strawberries

Preheat your oven to 420°. Prepare your chocolate biscuit. In a large bowl, sift the flour and chocolate cocoa powder. Add the salt and the baking powder.

Cube the butter into small pieces. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it’s uniform and in small pieces. Work quickly so the butter can stay cold. Add the buttermilk and mix together, being careful not to over mix the dough.

Shape the dough on a parchment lined baking sheet, or stone. Score into wedges or squares.

Bake for 22-26 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely.

Top with ganache, heavy cream, and strawberries.
