Teriyaki Chicken Pizza- more Japanese Italian Fusion
First let’s talk authentic pizza crust. My cousin gave me this recipe YEARS ago, and I’ve never made another crust since. It’s the perfect combo of crunchy, chewy and soft all rolled into one recipes.
Authentic Pizza Crust
1 ¾ cups warm water
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon instant yeast
2 teaspoon salt
Mix water, salt, yeast in a large bowl. Blend in two cups of flour and blend until incorporated. Add the other 2 cups of flour a portion at a time. Mix dough until it becomes no longer sticky. Clean bowl and grease with olive oil. Return the dough into the bowl and allow dough to rise for about 1 hour or until doubled. Spread over pizza stone and top with favorite toppings. Bake at 450 for 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and crust is done.
Second, let’s talk the ingredients for this Japanese Italian fusion pizza.
Toppings:
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
3 green onions diced
1 tbsp. black sesame seeds
3 chicken breasts, marinated in teriyaki sauce for 20 minutes
Teriyaki sauce
Grill the chicken until cooked through, tender and juices run clear. Set aside. Then place your uncooked dough (recipe above) onto a large cookie sheet and press from the center out to make your round or rectangle shape.
Sprinkle the dough with the cheeses, then slice the cooled chicken breast and place onto the cheese topped dough. Then top with diced green onions and a drizzle of Teriyaki sauce before baking. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Cool slightly before cutting.
Happy homemade pizza night! XO
